Today was a day of "other duties as assigned" at the library as I helped put up the Christmas display by the front entrance. I made a Christmas Bingo game for the students to play filled with campus events. The prize is a lovely metal die cut ornament of the library! The students workers are already fighting over who wants to win more. Fun times. :)
I decided to submit my summer survey results to Christian Theologian. It's the peer-reviewed, open access journal of the American Theological Library Association, and I launched the survey in a poster presentation at the 2022 Atla Annual Meeting, so it's a natural fit. It publishes two issues annually - April and October; the deadline for peer-reviewed submissions for the April issue is December 1 (tomorrow). I've got it drafted and the tables all formatted. I just need to go in and make it fit Chicago style. The students don't believe me when I tell them that faculty don't always love citation work either, but it's true! Necessary but tedious.

Taylor & Francis offers some very nice features on their articles including views updated daily, citations, and altmetrics. I have long taught altmetrics in information literacy sessions and was interested to learn earlier this year that Altmetrics is now also the name of a company that specializes in tracking articles’ “buzziness.”
I was pleased to see that in the first week 74 individuals had viewed my article, and quite surprised to see that I had 1 Altmetric for the article. I wondered if it might be my LinkedIn post but learned that a librarian who I respect very much tweeted out my article on her feed. How nice! :) My Chronicle of Higher Education article went live this Tuesday. Long awaited! Print not due until 2024 issue but online citation will work to cite in my survey results article.
https://www.tandfonline.com/eprint/TKXKPP2DNNEDRSXBFHFN/full?target=10.1080/15363759.2022.2138635 Aiming to submit the survey results article to the Atla peer-reviewed journal Theological Librarian by Dec 2 in order to be considered for the April 2023 issue. It's the associational journal of the conference where I launched the survey (Atla) so it's a good fit. Working hard to get the article submitted before Thanksgiving break next week! Today I submitted my publisher proofs for my upcoming article in Christian Higher Education. I reconsidered the wording of a few sections, but was overall pleased with the work the editors and I accomplished. Print publication slated for a 2024 issue; online-first due 6-8 weeks after final submission which happened mid-October.
I have narrowed down the journal for my next article sharing my summer survey results, and one requires an ORCID iD for submission. Got that set up today: https://orcid.org/0000-0002-2318-5226 About halfway done drafting the results article, with the goal of hitting submit on it as soon as I have the full pre-print citation in hand on the theory article.
